First: It's illegal. At least in Germany.

In most countries apart from some in Asia it is considered cyber crime. So unless you live in Pakistan or Japan(?) it's totally not some thing you can do without being a massive pain in the ass (in fact you always are if you do this no matter where you live) or really stupid enough to get caught like using your own IP or a server registered by your IP.

Second: DC can't punish anyone for doing this.

He can and most likely will if he can. It doesn't take a lot of time to report it, it's just that it might take a day before either your provider or law enforcement do something. Also if you own the server you can either write a script to keep logs of incoming packets or if the attack is really large your provider will have them anyway.

Sabotage is forbidden in any way.
Dc could only punish those guys with a ban for being the biggest idiots in the community, but it wont stop them from crashing servers. As i know the cs2d kids they will just do it more often after their usgn acc. Got banned, because they will be mad then.

Btw. You can get those guys on their balls when you got the ip adress.

Do you have administration rights for that forum? If not, contact the administrator and ask for his IP. If you ever log any spam packets from this IP you can contact your server provider yourself, or if you do not own the server the owner can.

Make sure you, or the owner, have enough proof. Screen shots will simply not do.

@user Hitman-ps: I can barely read what is written on those pictures, I have better chances counting the pixels.
I don't think DC will ban someone for crashing servers, it will just make it worse. Just ignore the bastard, he will get bored sooner or later.

Yes, crashing or even the attempt to crash servers is illegal in many countries. I will punish (ban) people when I know 100% for sure that they are crashing servers.

The problem: I can't rely on reports about this though. People can make wrong accusations and images/videos can be faked as well and I simply don't want to ban innocent users.

Also: Banning or punishing people who crash servers is NOT my job. I don't have time for stuff like that.

In short:
• It's NOT legal and everyone who does it is a stupid little <insert bad words>
• PLEASE do NOT report users who crash servers to me - I probably won't even reply

No is not legal to crash servers, is illegal

As for people who crash servers they are just immature that they do nothing just to scare people (yes, there are some people that do this thing) however there are some that can say the truth.

Just ignore these people and secure your server.
