Badges would be on our profiles, near signature bar.
There could be badges like:

Addicted-Visit unrealsoftware.de 10 days in a row
5/5 rater-Rate 10 files with 5/5 rate
File newbie-Upload 5 files
File uploader-Upload 35 files
File master-Upload 100 files

It could be a picture or just a text.
What do you think about this idea?

That's gonna attract more kids like you to this forum. This feature makes no sense und has no use. What if I upload 100 useless and stupid files. Well, then I'm file master, and will tell everyone that they suck, and I don't, because I'm file master. No, thanks.

Sounds crap.

Flaccid makes a good point that it could put other users off. But the other problem comes down to that people would want those medals desperately and I can only imagine that people would start spamming files to grab those medals.

flaccid is absolutely right. many users will just try to get the badges. no matter how. which will actually lead to a shit storm.

"5/5 rater-Rate 10 files with 5/5 rate" awesome idea! people will rate some random files 5/5 just to get this badge.

Some people thinks that U.S. is a place that the only goal to get something on there is spamming.

Oh cmon. We're not kids (Some people are). Fuck the badges.
No archievments, no badges, no trophies. Goddamit no!

well, that can be a good idea if the badges are like:
"mature user" or "active helper";
there's already user modes anyway, I mean: user, super user, moderator, admin. that's like that too.
(I can be completely mistaken because I don't really know what badge is )

Yes, I agree. And persons reached for like 3 years and still active have a "Veteran" or whatever user title/badge.
User titles are better then badges tho.

Jesus Christ, don't even think that DC will add something like this! We don't wanna thousands of kids, which will lead only to get those BADGES, to be "AVESOOOM".

I would get about 30 'Addicted' badges every year.

So definitely a no. Plus, there is no point in giving out achievements. So there is another no, just to be sure.

And people, raging != problem solving. Chill out.

Me too, and most part of known users... such as Yates and EngiN33R.
