By the way: I found out that the Ogre3D Milkshape exporter can automatically create LOD (level of detail) versions of your models with reduced polygon counts. Ogre3D uses those versions automatically for objects which are far away from the camera to reduce the amount of polygons which need to be rendered.

Sounds really nice. Would be useful for performance. (Don't remember if SII could do that o_O)

Yes, of course. Stranded III will be way better than Stranded II, no doubt.

Let's hope for a better storyline. In Stranded 2 when I saw a flaming turtle, after you dig out the gold, I fucking lol'd.

Those shadows are just created with the default shadow texture size (I didn't try other sizes and I don't even know what the default size is ...). Higher resolutions are possible (> higher quality) and there will surely be a setting for that in the game. Stencil shadows are possible as well but those are not well suited for large scenes with many models.

And? GTA SA is the best GTA. So if Stranded III has the same shadows, it will be also epic.

Stick to the thread... I am a big fan of GTA series too (especially San Andreas), but you should admit that GTA SA is getting old and therefore outdated. Shadows like that were cool back in 2005, but right now games have dynamic shadows/lighting with way better quality.

@user DC:
Very good! Although it was quite obvious that shadows like that won't be in final version of the game, I just commented user mafia_man's post.

If Stranded III used the Minecraft's terrain style and had gravity cores, I'd manage to create planets with Lua and different gravity in different parts of the map.

(This is just my opinion of how I think it would be awesome)

I can't predict that. But you can try games that are using Ogre3D to see if it works for you. Ogre3D supports Direct3D and OpenGL so chances are good that it will work with at least on of both.

You will also be able to control the view distance and other visual stuff as in Stranded II. This should enable most people to get playable FPS.

Great, last question. Do you need a men that can create samples, so you will have some free time.
